Dr. Candace M. Kyles
Dr. Candace M. Kyles is a Chicago-born writer, scholar, educator, researcher, and theologian who lives at the intersection of faith, curiosity, and a really good question. If there’s a tension to be explored between Sunday sermons and Monday realities, she’s probably already pulling on the thread.
She is an academically trained theologian with an emphasis in Systematic Theology. Her academic and professional background spans educational research, program evaluation, and data analysis, with a particular focus on culturally responsive and equitable practices. She brings both analytical precision and theological depth to her work. Translation: She loves God and approaches faith and inquiry with rigor and care.
Dr. Candace is deeply committed to creating spaces where people can wrestle honestly with faith. Her work is grounded in the belief that asking better questions doesn’t weaken faith; it refines it. She invites readers into thoughtful, sometimes uncomfortable, always necessary conversations about Jesus, theology, race, culture, and the complexities of real life. Her goal isn’t to hand out easy answers, but to encourage deeper reflection, meaningful dialogue, and a more grounded pursuit of truth.
At heart, Candace is a bridge-builder between disciplines, communities, and perspectives. She currently lives on the South Side of Chicago, where her need for speed occasionally wins out when she's driving. She's also likely trying to fall in love with her fitness journey.
